When
we have guild members who move out of the area, we like to send them off with a
reminder of their lasting friendships within the guild. The member moving away selects a fabric (color
way, type of print etc) and guild members sew friendship star blocks (the guild
block) using unbleached muslin as the background and the member’s choice as the
star. Each member also signs the block
using a black pigma pen in one of the corner squares of muslin.
Detailed
instructions for how to construct the block can be found by clicking the link
below, and are also printed in the membership directory. I have muslin that is pre washed and pressed
and ready to create blocks, you can get it from me at a guild meeting or I can
mail a piece to you. When your blocks
are complete, I will either collect them at guild meetings or you can put them
in snail mail (please note my McKinney
address will be in the new directory, it’s not in the one from last year!)
to me; one block will mail nicely in a letter
sized envelope with one stamp.
Help
us create a lasting memory for guild members who move away from the area!

September
2007 – I'll mail both of these
after the September meeting.
Collecting for Pam Loburk
Pam would like natural shades of greens with the muslin
background.
Collecting for Sylvia
Steele who is moving to the Austin
area.
Sylvia
would like tonal fabrics (like a moda marble, no
distinct print) with the muslin background.
The color choice is up to you, just make sure
that it is a tone on tone with no identifiable print in the fabric. Don’t forget to sign your blocks!
